Gentlemen,
After several COVID related continuances, the fight in court to protect the Mouton statue in Lafayette is about to get back underway.
In the past, the Mouton Chapter of the UDC, which is party to the case, has solicited funds to pay attorney fees and it has been much appreciated. With that said, attorney fees don't stop as the case continues and the Mouton Chapter is once again in need of your donations.
At this point, a bill for $1,500 is coming due March 19th with an additional $2,500 due the end of April and $2,500 due by the the end of May. Jessica McChesney is spearheading the fight and fundraiser and will gladly accept donations by way of checks, money orders, cash apps, Venmo, etc. She is even willing to come and pick up donations in person if need be. Checks can be made out to CASH or UDC Mouton Chapter. They can be mailed to Jessica at 1400 East Bayou Pkwy, Unit 4C, Lafayette, La 70508. She can be reached via cell phone at 337-298-0070 and/or email at
Jtallchic23@aol.com should anyone want to contact her directly to make a donation or have any questions.
The Mouton Camp stands with Jessica and the ladies of the Mouton Chapter in this fight and is doing all it can to assist them. Please consider helping them individually and as Camps and donate what you can. The protective order on the statue is solid but because of the efforts of those who want to see the statue removed, it must be defended and the Mouton Chapter is standing up.
YOS,
Charles Lauret
Adjutant, Mouton Camp 778
Chief of Staff, LA Division
